Assignment background
For parts such as seal caps, uniform application of sealant is important to ensure airtightness. However, conventional application processes have the following challenges:
- There were cases where the amount of liquid applied was inconsistent and there was a partial lack of liquid, making it impossible to ensure airtightness.
- On the other hand, if too much is applied, the liquid will pool on the outside of the part and the appearance will deteriorate, which often requires rework in later processes and increases the workload.
Benefits
By introducing our vipro-PUMP series dispenser (large capacity type) and a cap nozzle designed specifically for seal caps, the following effects were achieved:
- Continuously dispenses sealant at a high accuracy of ±1%
This eliminates variations in line width and the risk of wire breakage, achieving a clean seal line that follows the joining line of the parts. - The use of a cap nozzle allows for uniform application along the threads
By using a dedicated nozzle that matches the thread shape of the seal cap, the material is reliably filled into narrow spaces, preventing dripping and unevenness. As a result, both shortened takt time and consistent quality are achieved. - Stabilized discharge volume eliminates the need for post-process adjustments
Eliminates liquid pools and unevenness, significantly improving production efficiency and yield. - Stable discharge even with high viscosity and high filler
Application conditions can be optimized according to complex cap shapes and depths. Also suitable for parts with complex shapes.
