Assignment background
Honeycomb structures used in aircraft and special vehicles require both light weight and strength, so a process is required to fill the interior with conductive paste or adhesive to enhance impact resistance and durability. However, conventional application methods have the following issues:
- The amount of application was unstable and required frequent adjustments: The amount of application was prone to inconsistency due to the viscosity of the liquid, and fine adjustments were time-consuming each time.
- Difficulty in uniform application of high viscosity liquid: The paste material did not flow smoothly, causing uneven filling and voids, leading to product defects.
Benefits
By implementing our vipro-PUMP dispenser, we have achieved the following results:
- Reduced adjustment work and improved work efficiency
Stable discharge that is not affected by material viscosity or supply pressure eliminates the need for frequent adjustments that were previously required, significantly reducing the workload of the operator. - Achieves uniform filling even with high viscosity paste
Functional pastes with properties such as conductivity, heat resistance, and insulation can now be filled inside honeycomb cells without leaving any gaps, reducing defects caused by incomplete filling or voids. - Improving product reliability and safety
This eliminates variations in filling quality and stabilizes adhesive and reinforcement strength, contributing to extending product life and improving safety in fields that require high reliability, such as aircraft and railways. - Reduce the burden on post-processing
Uniform application simplifies post-filling rework and inspection processes, improving production efficiency and shortening the overall process lead time.
Introduced products
vipro-PUMP series dispenser (large capacity type)
This positive displacement dispenser is compatible with high viscosity, high filler, and high specific gravity materials, and can stably fill complex shapes with fixed amounts.
- The positive displacement system achieves a discharge accuracy of ±1%. It maintains stability even during long periods of continuous operation, creating a process with zero rework.
- The structure is resistant to viscosity fluctuations and temperature changes, minimizing the risk of paste material separation, hardening, and clogging.
- Compatible with high viscosity liquids up to 2,000,000 mPa·s (cps), and can flexibly handle a variety of pastes for conductive, thermal insulating, and adhesive applications.
- The unique structure allows for smooth discharge without pulsation or pressure waves, ensuring uniform filling deep into honeycomb panels without bubbles.
- The coating conditions are extremely reproducible, achieving stable quality and process standardization even in high-mix, low-volume production.
