Discharge test
The results of mixing using a static mixer and a dynamic mixer under the same volumetric flow rate and environmental conditions were compared. The experiment was conducted using the same control system (same calibration and program) and the same pump (driver, pump housing, rotor and stator, etc.) to confirm the differences due to the mixing method. The material used was a difficult-to-handle two-component epoxy adhesive, with a mixing ratio of 10:1 (A:B) by weight, and the discharge rate was varied (0.5 ml/min to 6 ml/min). As shown in Figure 1, the test material using the static mixer only partially cured and did not fully cure.
The dynamic mixer can be used at speeds of up to 200 rpm and up to 2000 rpm. As shown in Figure 2, uniform mixing is possible at the minimum speed. Even at higher discharge and mixer speeds, no optical differences are observed in the materials. In this way, the dynamic mixer can reliably mix two-component epoxy adhesives, which could not be processed with a static mixer, even at the minimum mixing speed, allowing for optimal fluid application.
